The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non compliance with the accessibility regulations

Some colour contrast on content may not be sufficient. For example the ‘Find out more’ buttons on the Home page. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum).

When using a keyboard to navigate the website, sometimes the tabbing order highlights repeated links, for example the Featured items on the home page, so people using a keyboard may not be able to navigate quickly and easily. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.4.3 (Focus order).

Some embedded content doesn’t have a coded role, for example the Facebook feed, so screen readers might not read it correctly. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value.

The social media icons/links are not obvious and have no names or generic names, this might mean the experience of people using screen readers and other assistive technologies might not be as good as it should be. This fails WCAG 2.1 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value.

It’s not possible for users to change text size without some of the content overlapping, for example the Facebook feed on the homepage. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.4.4 (resize text).

We are working with our developer to correct these issues.

How we tested this website

This website was last tested on 4 June 2020. We did our own testing using automated and manual testing. We used the Lighthouse accessibility tool to perform an automated report on the website’s accessibility.

We tested a number of pages that included a wide range of functionality including images, videos, interactive cards and quotes on our main website platform, available at: www.communitycurators.co.uk.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

 

We will regularly review the accessibility of this website with automated testing using the Lighthouse and WAVE accessibility tools. We will also conduct manual testing exercises, and review any issues reported by users of the website. We will work with our developer to make improvements.
