Tom the Tale Teller
What does a Storyteller do?
Well, what does a storyteller do? Most people’s answer is ‘read stories to children’, but, as you will find out at this eye-opening and joyous event, that is most certainly not the case. Join Tom the Tale Teller as he shares the delights of oral storytelling with you all. Being both a former teacher and a published author of two folk tale books, Tom knows how to keep an audience entertained and a thing or two about stories. You will definitely laugh, you may cry (and not just from the bad jokes) and you will almost certainly learn something new or he will eat his hat! (Please note, although Tom has a hat and it is made of leather so is technically edible, he will not actually be eating it).
This session is aimed at adults

Tom came stumbling into the world of storytelling in his mid 20’s through his work as a primary school teacher. After trying out a bit of storytelling on his class, he soon ventured onto the open mic storytelling scene, telling his stories to adults. Over the past few years, he has written and published two folk tale books for children through The History Press, and he now tries to flog these wherever he goes (he even takes cards now so there’s no excuse). After a year of having the life sucked out of him on Zoom and YouTube, he is ready to finally meet real-life people once more and bring the stories back to life!
