Following on from the success of the Wriggly Readers Festival in October 2024, we are delighted to holding a second series of events in Leicestershire Libraries, aimed at our Early Years audience and their families.
Chinese New Year Stories and Crafts with Els Doodles
Monday, January 27th 2 – 3pm at Blaby Library
A fun afternoon of Chinese New Year based arts and storytime. From Colourful dragons and wobbly snakes to mini festive lanterns. A mix of creations perfect for your toddlers and pre-schoolers.
Seasons Come, Seasons Go
Tuesday, January 28th 11am – 12pm at Market Harborough Library
A free event at Market Harborough Library for children aged 1 – 5 years and their families with Mixit Arts!
Join us as we explore the wonderful seasons throughout the year – by crunching our way through the autumn leaves, dancing with the soft snowflakes, saying hello to our spring animal friends and relaxing under the bright Summer sun. Let your imagination flow as you travel through this season-filled session using drama, arts & crafts, music, and movement to create our very own Seasons story.
Be ready to tell us all about your favourite season. Inspired by the books: Tree: Seasons Come, Seasons Go by Britta Teckentrup, Hello Spring by Jo Lindly and National Trust: Who’s Hiding on the River? (Who’s Hiding Here?) by Katharine McEwen
Sound Me A Story
Wednesday, January 29th 10 – 11am at Coalville Library
You’ve read stories before but what do stories sound like? Join Mr Shay, your beatboxing host, to explore exciting stories through the power of sound and looping! Through the magical technology of the Sound-Story-Simulator, combine sounds from your voice, surroundings and even digital instruments to create live soundscapes and re-imagine the exciting world of books.
The Wonder Garden in Winter
Friday, January 31st 10 – 11am at Broughton Astley Library
‘A magical story adventure. My 3 year old loved it!’
The Wonder Garden…in winter!
Join us for a musical, magical, interactive storytelling adventure! Let’s step into the wonder garden and explore winter and its stories. Snow falls. Wind blows. Animals play hide and seek. So let’s wake up our garden friends, scrunch snowballs and make winter music to help our garden grow.
A sensory storytelling and stay and play workshop to follow for children aged 0-5 years and their families.
Performance 30 Minutes with stay and play to follow.
