Photography Project

When it was decided at the start of this journey that we would be taking a Local Studies and young people focus, we knew it was going to be a challenge to make it exciting and appealing for the group. Luckily, we found Lewis Photography who was more than up to the challenge of connecting with and inspiring our group from Maplewell Post-16. It was a privilege to watch the young people involved grow from the first session, where they were very unsure and hesitant to move out of their comfort zone.

In March 2024, we held an exciting Celebration where we projected the photos that the young people had taken over the 6-week programme onto the outside of the library building. It was an inspiring event that brought together all of the young people and their families to recognise their journey and successes.

He’s a different person. We’ve said that he has had a lost year, not connecting with his courses and this has given him a purpose for moving on” – Father of one of the Participants.

The film we made together is below; we hope you enjoy it.
