Our mural was made by over 250 people. Some contributed ideas, others feature in the mural and many more helped collage, paint and print the background.

Culture and Community
Rohini is Community Champions Manager for VASL where she has worked for. She organising volunteering, community events and works hard to alleviate loneliness in the community
Amisha is a Library Services Assistant at Market Harborough Library and Museum. Amisha is at the start of her career, but there has been a library in Market Harborough since 1905, it’s been in its present site, on the first floor of the Symington Building since 2014.
Tim is Market Town Museums Officer for Harborough, Melton and Charnwood Museums. He takes care of the museums and their collections.
Helen is a Community Participation Worker for Culture Leicestershire, she runs projects to bring culture and creativity to everyone in the community, especially those who are marginalised.
Darren is a musician and performs with Flying High Solo. He was photographed busking outside The Little Theatre in Market Harborough.
Food and Drink
Samantha works at the Garage Bakehouse, which has been feeding Harborough since 2014.
Adnan runs the fish and chip shop in Harborough Market with his wife, Sibel. Originally from Istanbul, they’ve been in Harborough 2 years.
Jen and her niece, Charlotte are part of the family that run Hobbs Fishmongers. Their family has run the fishmongers for 55 years, but a fishmongers has been going on this site since the early 20th century
Duncan has owned Duncan Murray Wines since 2001 and is an active member of the local business community.
Sally is a farmer at Grange Farm in King’s Norton, Leicestershire.
Sam works as a pizza chef at the Three Swans Hotel in his holidays from university.
Alison is one half of the Two Old Goats café, hailing from South Africa she has run the café for 2 years.
Health and Wellbeing
Helen, Wendy, Chris and Peter are Market Harborough in Bloom volunteers who work all year round to make the town look good for residents and visitors – with over 100 planters across the town and looking after the rose garden in Welland Park.
James and Alastair from Moose Hair with client, Suzy. Moose Hair has been in Market Harborough for 6 years.

Jarrod from Randalls Sweet Shop, which has been in business 9 years.
Susan from Rural Trading, the refill stall in the market.
Pete, and his dog Rey, runs the Pop Vinyl stall in the market and Harborough’s Comic Cons.
Rosmarie runs Hanworth Hats, which has been in Harborough 8 years, but in business for 30 years.
Rekha runs Fabric 4 All in the market and across Leicestershire, she and her husband have been in business 12 years.

Frank has run Frank Gilbert Housewares since 1970, but the shop has been there since 1948.
Working from Home
Since arriving from Ukraine in 2022, Kate often works in her favourite café, she does translation, artwork, admin and now works as a Homes for Ukraine Officer for Leicestershire County Council.
Kirstie makes Macramé from home which she sells on Harborough Market.
Ahmed stacks the dishwasher in Kibworth, where he lives with his partner and son.
Bradley takes his children for a walk in Market Harborough town centre.
Amy works from her home studio painting the people of Harborough.
Jeanie is Harborough born and bred. She now often carries out her office job from her kitchen.
Liam is a builder from Market Harborough. He builds the homes we live in.
Baking at home is a popular past time in Harborough, we even boast a Great British Bake Off winner!
People Who Help
Dan Page (Mr Page to his students) is Head of Art at Robert Smyth Academy and supported many of his students participating in this mural. He has taught here for 6 years.
Wiley is a postie in Market Harborough.
Rupal has run the Connaught Road Post Office with her husband, Vipul for 20 years.
