Cossington Primary School
About the exhibition
In June 2024, Year 5 pupils from Cossington Primary School took part in a ‘History Detectives’ workshop to learn how archaeologists study objects to find out about the past. They were inspired by the nearly 4,000-year-old Cossington Necklace, a Bronze Age treasure found in their village. After an exciting talk by the Curator of Archaeology at Leicestershire County Council, the children made necklaces and decorated stones with symbols and pictures showing their personalities, interests, and heritage. Their creations are part of the “My Jewellery, My Story” project, which is being exhibited at Charnwood Museum from January-June 2025.
