Wriggly Readers Festival
Our first Wriggly Readers Festival is taking place throughout October 2024. It is a month-long celebration of early years in Leicestershire Libraries.
The aim is to promote the library service’s current early years offer, and supplement this with some exciting events and activities.
We are hosting events in 8 of our Libraries. These events will be for children aged 0-5, aiming to spark their imagination, support their development, and encourage them and their families to love our libraries.
You can find our programme of events here: https://www.leicestershire.gov.uk/leisure-and-community/libraries/books-and-reading/wriggly-readers-festival
And book on to activities here: https://www.leicestershire.gov.uk/library-events
The Wriggly Reader Festival is being led and developed by the Library Service. For further information and support, please contact Rachel Hill (Librarian) – libraries@leics.gov.uk
As part of our National portfolio Organisation funding from Arts Council England, our ambition is to develop an early year offer that is deliverable across our Library sites. We are using the Wriggly Readers Festival as an opportunity to find out more from local families with under 5s, about their needs and interests, with the aim of developing a diverse and tailored programme of activity.
